Who is Johnny Red?

Johnny Red is not a member of staff. He is a hero from the 1980s comic book Battle Action and was founder Graham’s favourite character. Johnny was a Hurricane pilot based on a merchant ship in the Second World War. He was a fearless renegade with a red beard, and his courage and determination to fight for the cause reflect the values of the agency that now bears his name.

Founder Graham Hutson has a 20-plus year background in journalism, writing for glossy magazines and spending 12 years at The Times in London, where he was a sub editor on the Business desk and founded the newspaper's cycling page, On Your Bike. He went on to lead global PR for premium cycling brand Rapha Racing before setting up Johnny Red in May 2018.
